Next Running Agenda: 7-Eleven Run 800

I enjoyed my first fun run so much that I went scouting for another event I can participate in.  In fact, in my current goals, I included running activities to my list.  My running buddy, Ate S. even wanted to upgrade already to 10K. She was probably caught up in the excitement of our first run.  So am I, but I'm not yet delirious lol!  After all,  I have a heart to protect.  I said it's too soon for me to upgrade to that category.  She agreed, so we're still on the 5K level, but now that I have a personal record, I'd try to beat that first.  My record time for the recent Milo Marathon is 45 minutes and 21 seconds.  Slow, right?  I don't mind, as long as I finished the race still standing up, no sustained injuries and still able to smile at the finish line.  I was expecting my legs to hurt days after but there was only slight pain, the kind of good pain you have when you exercise.

For running enthusiasts, I am most sure they have come across Takbo.ph.  They've got a list of running events there.  My running buddies and I chose this particular event:

Like most running events, this one has an advocacy. While we run for various reasons, it's so much better when we run for a cause.  As part of the 7-Eleven Run 800 registration, participants are asked to vote for the city of their choice among the list.  The top 3 cities will each be given support for feeding programs and medical missions.

This run was originally scheduled this coming August 26 but as of last check, it was moved to October 14 due to delays in the maintenance works in the venue because of the recent typhoon.  So, if you're interested, there's still 52 days left for registration.  See you there!

Meanwhile, I'll be looking out for other scheduled fun runs for August or September since the October schedule is a long way off...

  29. months after giving birth to my youngest, I started to run to lose weight. In 2 months, my peers had seen obvious trimmings on my physique! Running plus eating healthily is really good. Although I haven't participated in any marathons yet, but I've always wanted to run my first marathon. Soon, soon.. I tell myself. Good luck!

Running is a great means to exercise and socialize at the same time! More so, knowing that a group will benefit from this event makes this occasion more meaningful! Have fun and enjoy!
