Running Playlist: Praise and Worship Songs

Running w Music
Running with Music
Tomorrow, I'm going to have a Sunday morning run with my friends.  I was going over my running playlist a few hours ago and I realize I'm getting a bit bored running to the same music.  I figured it's time to make a new one.

It's a Sunday run, and I thought why not start the day with praise and worship music?  It's a good way to prep me up for Sunday service after the run.  That way I got ahead of the worship team hahaha!

I thought it would be easy coming up with a decent running playlist since I have a lot of worship songs stored in my hard drive.  Most of those were ripped from my CD's.  And that's where there's a little problem.  Some copies were only named track 1, track 2, and so on.  I don't even know the titles!  So, I spent a few hours this morning just weeding through the songs, screening which ones I could include in the new playlist.  Since I'm going to run, they have to be upbeat songs or I'll end up with a very slow jog.  Well, easy does it.  I came up with these songs.  Recognize any of these?

  • All Over the World (Tree63)
  • Better Than Life (Hillsongs)
  • Every Move I Make (Jennifer Carrozza)
  • Undignified (David Crowder Band)
  • Dancing Generation (Matt Redman)
  • Everyday (John Hogue)
  • Glory (Hillsongs)
  • Now Is the Time (Delirious)
  • Yesterday, Today, and Forever (Vicky Beeching)
  • King of Majesty
  • You Give Me Hope (Parkin, Simon Band)
  • All About You
  • Free
  • More to See
  • Hear Our Praises

**Those with no artists indicated are most probably from my Hillsongs collection

If you have more praise and worship songs to add to these, please, let me know.  I sure could use a lot of uplifting songs to accompany me during my runs and inspire me to strive better at what I do.  Isn't it great to praise God in all we do?

A blessed weekend to you all!

  1. Nice list. I know some of those you listed. The problem is I don't actually know the title of these songs, I just sing them.

  2. Hi A ! I have one . You may want to check "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" from the movie Sister Act (I am not sure though if it was Sister Act 1 or 2) where Whoopi Goldberg played (rather pretended) to be a nun.

Hope to see you very soon !

  3. Nice list you got there. There are worship songs that are pop and rock right and perfect for running as well! THanks for sharing! By the way, I started running again last week! :) Hurray!

  4. Wow, I am so going to check out your running track! Mine is more than a year old, too, and I actually ran (sa treadmill nga lang) listening to Brother Bo's the feast. Kind of funny when he said "put your hands on your chest!" and I was running haha

  15. My fave worship song is Hillsong's Everyday. I guess it's not the same as John Hogue's? I have other faves, pero I don't think they're fit for a running track haha :D

  18. Great idea of running with Praise and Worship playlist because its like we can't help but feel blessed for being healthy, having two feet , for enjoying God's creation, and most of all for being alive.

  19. You've got an interesting playlist. But doesn't it distract you while running? I'm just worried that if it were me I might be so engrossed with the music that I don't hear whatever or whoever's behind me. heheheh :)

  22. I'm also a fan of Casting Crowns. Unfortunately, I can't use their songs for running...they're more of for quiet times.

  23. Oh, I guess it's part of my reflex system sis, specially when I am outdoors, that even if headphones are tucked in my ears and I'm listening to music, I still pay attention to my surroundings.

  24. Very well said Teri... I do feel more alive when I'm running, and thankful that I can still enjoy this simple pleasure. Making the most of it because time will come when even walking would be tedious.

  25. I'm not sure if it's good for running... but I really love Don Moen's album, I Will Sing. I listen to it almost every morning during my prayer time. :)

  26. I don't remember that song but if it's upbeat, the kind that makes you want to tap your feet and clap your hands, then maybe pwedeng pang running.

  27. Wow, you got a different running playlist but it looks good though. Thanks for sharing your own with us.

  29. i cant imagine listening to praise music and running.

  30. It's really not that hard to imagine...and even try. You see, running is something that I am not only doing for myself... It's an affirmation that I can reclaim my health, being the steward of my body. And as I run, I am thanking God that He makes me able... running is praising God for this gift of freedom to be like a child again. :-)
