I have not been watching the television for quite some time. So it was a bit late for me to hear about the news down south of the Philippines. And I only got to the details of things through posts in Facebook profiles and this post from Paula of BC Bloggers :

Do visit the link above so you can find out the details of how you can give assistance to the people devastated by the typhoon.

You might be wondering what a post about a supertyphoon is doing in a blog about health and wellness.
It's not totally out of topic, as part of wellness is our relationship to society. Yes, that's what we call social wellness. Simply put, it's being a part of a community and cultivating a healthy relationship with people in general.  It's also doing your part in making the community a better place to thrive within.

You know what? Giving benefits both the recipient and the giver. It felt great when I received the email confirmation from Philippine National Red Cross. Somehow, it is like giving back to God also, and feeling blessed knowing you are being used to help people in need.  So don't be's as easy as taking a few clicks if you cannot be there to help in person.

  1. Thank your for blogging about this, Aileen. I have not been watching television too kaya delayed din ang reaction ko to this tragedy. Pero better late than never di va? :)

  2. Yay! My first commenter :-) Absolutely, Paula. It is better later than never. I just feel so good being able to help even in small ways.

  3. Wow, I'm the first? Just bloghop and comment on other blogs and pretty soon you'll have more comments. :) I use Google Reader to keep track of the blogs I'd like to read.

  4. Yes Paula, you have that seat of honor in my blog :-) LawReal is 2nd runner up hahaha!

This blog is exactly a week old so I don't expect much views and visits yet. That will come later.

About Google Reader, yes that is quite handy.
